Dear Me, Dear You: Starting Over
You can start over (and over, and over). You can pause, take a rest, and resume that forward motion as many times as you need. When we keep pushing forward without rest we become weary, our momentum slows, we burnout and are eventually forced to pause anyways. When we keep pushing forward without ever pausing for reflection, we cannot know for certain if the path we are on, is still the desired and ideal path. There is power and knowledge to be had in pause. Maybe you start again on the same path, maybe you start over on a new one. Changing direction and declaring something new for yourself can be powerful, albeit potentially uncomfortable and unnerving. It’s worth it. You, your life, are worth it. You can do this - changing direction - again and again, until you find a path that feels right. Even then, even when on a path that feels right and true, you might come to find, years later, that you would rather explore a different route. That too is okay. Who cares how long you’ve walked that path? If it no longer feels aligned, do not waste anymore time walking it. Start over. Start over. Start over. Just be sure to start. It’s okay to pause, to change direction; just don’t stop. Don’t sit and allow the flow of life to push you around willy-nilly. Don’t let the flow of life carry you down a path you don’t, in your heart of heats, want to be on. This is your life, be in control of it. No one else needs to understand or approve. You only owe it to yourself. You are a sovereign individual and this is your life. Start over as often as you need, as often as you want. Start over. Start over. Start over.
