Dear Me, Dear You: Changing Direction

You can change the path you are on at any time. Take a left, or a right. Turn around and head back. Cut through the woods and forge a new path of your own. However you end up making the change is fine, just know that you can. Because you started walking this way, does not mean you have to continue walking this path for the rest of your life. Because is not a reason. You are the hero in this journey, you can do whatever the hell you want. Truly. It’s a matter of choice and consequence (both good and bad). Of course, the further we get down a path, the harder it can feel to change course. We’ve already come so far after all, summited so many peaks, traversed so many difficult terrains. Changing course does not mean giving up and it does not mean everything you have accomplished and survived was all for nothing. Don’t make this any bigger or more difficult than it needs to be. Sure, sometimes we need an exit strategy. Sometimes, as scary as it may seem, it really is as simple as moving our feet in a different direction. It’s never too late. You don’t need any reason greater than because you want to, feel called to, or because the path you are on no longer feels fulfilling, joyful, loving, or true. Your life, your journey, your choice.
